2008 Summer VBS
Welcome to

Here, You Are Invited To:
  • Go places with us and Jesus on the journey of faith - at your own pace - into the heart of God;
  • Share your journey in a safe place - among a diverse, welcoming community of people at different places in their journey;
  • Learn to love yourself and others as we together stay in love with God - a God who embraces and invites us just as we are;
  • Experience God's grace that enriches our lives in so many ways by freely offering us freedom, a new beginning, hope, love and forgiveness;
  • Grow as a human being and as a spiritual being - knowing that taking care of our souls is as important as caring for our bodies and minds;
  • Become like Jesus through the church: The church is not a place, not a building, nor a service: but a people committed to living like Jesus;
  • Live differently with an open heart, mind and door - welcoming all, living in harmony with others and our mother earth;
  • Make a difference where you live, work, and play - because God walks with you wherever you are, filling the world with divine presentness;

We Welcome You To Our 40th Anniversary Year!

On Nov. 2, 1969, our current - then newly built - church building was dedicated to God's glory. Through the hard efforts of our spiritual forebears, a new "house of prayer for all peoples" was opened. Since then, hundreds of families have found a spiritual home in this building - and loving community of people living out the eternal commandment as Jesus expressed it: to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Join us to celebrate the past, embrace the present, and envision the future as we seek to "Rethink Church." We believe church is not so much a building or a nice group of people, but mostly a VERB, a people living out our motto of "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors!" A people so filled with the sense of the divine that it becomes second nature to: do no harm, do good to all at all times, and to always stay in love with God!

Join us in this Anniversary Year as we seek to become passionate in our spiritual life through the three Rs: of Remembering, Renewing and Reaching Out:

  • Remembering and recounting our stories of faith, by telling how the community of faith walked alongside us through all parts of our life's journey
  • Renewing and reviving our personal and communal practices of faith through attention to the inner life, listening to the Bible, and through camping for children and youth
  • Reaching out and rebuilding our community by inviting our friends to "Bring-A-Friend Sunday," becoming a "Welcoming Congregation" and appreciating each other's gifts and services
